In reply to <a href="https://www.hallstromhome.com/chalk-painting-furniture-the-easy-way/#comment-2997">Chelse</a>.

Hello
I personally stay away from high gloss white it tends to show a lot of imperfections. The only paint I water down is chalk paint and that generally isn't the case, unless it's old and thick. I'm sure a chalk paint would work well with what you're doing.

Hope that helps

I have two really great artists pieces from about 6 years ago. I still love them but i need to update them. One chair has some mold coming through the paint. During a move /i had to store them for a minute, but got them back and cleaned them up a few years ago but now I’m moving again and I don’t know whether to go high gloss white or how that would affect the details. The artist told me she used a lil water in her paint. Now I’m really confused. Which is easiest to get a restored or new look for an upcoming move? Thanks and I will start to shop you...just found this. Chelsea

[…] Are you thinking to start chalk painting or have you been using this for a long time? I recommend starting with small pieces like a tray or a vase and then do a side table before you do something bigger. But remember you can always repaint of a clear spray or a wax. That’s the beauty of chalk paint. Take a look here on how I chalk paint the easy way. […]
