In reply to Rhonda Hallstrom. I didn't have corn syrup so I used some bottled simple syrup. I don't think it thickens very well, so they seemed "not as sturdy" or a bit "floppy"!if that makes sense.

In reply to Cathy Heagney. That is a good question. I don't know much about maple syrup if it would thicken like corn syrup but it is worth a shot. Be sure to let me know how it works out if you try it!

In reply to Beth Epperson. Yes you are correct! I cup unmelted then the rest melted! I am so sorry for the confusion! They do melt but they are a little thicker.
